Leaving in the morning for the Oakland Marathon! It feels like my entire life has built up to this moment…Definitely this entire year has been focused on this weekend.
Tomorrow, my boyfriend, my bestie and myself will be heading down to Oakland to check into our hotel and pick up race packets. I get to find out my bib #…Somehow the race number is always so fun to see for the first time. We get to meet-up my sister, brother-in-law, my niece and nephew, my gym wifey and her husband for pre-race discussions and lots of laughter!
Sunday morning I will wake up at 4am to eat a healthy and carb-filled breakfast and chug as much water as I can. I will shower and put my race clothes on. I will stuff all my pockets and fanny pack full of race snacks to give me energy during all 26.2 miles. We will walk down to the start line and meet my parents, my friends and my teammates there. We will hug, kiss and take photos. At 7am when the race starts, it’s all me! Each step will be a wonderful reminder of all the work I’ve put in in this past year of training, and with each breath, I will be thankful for this second chance at life and fitness that I have been gifted. I am so excited, thankful, and anxious for each and every moment in these upcoming days.
Good post. I learn something new and challenging on websites I stumbleupon on a daily basis. It will always be helpful to read content from other authors and practice something from other websites.
